As you may have heard, toward the end of Pearl Jam’s set at the Global Citizens Festival in New York’s Central Park, Beyonce joined Eddie Vedder and his acoustic guitar to cover “Redemption Song”.
Pearl Jam has covered the song by Bob Marley before, but not for twenty years — since 1995. Beyonce and Vedder’s acoustic cover was a part of a twelve song set from Pearl Jam. Here’s the setlist from Vedder and gang:
01. “Mind Your Manners” |
---|
02. “Do The Evolution” |
03. “Given To Fly” |
04. “Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town” |
05. “Lightning Bolt” |
06. “Daughter” |
07. “Unthought Known” |
08. “Better Man” |
09. “Alive” |
10. “Imagine” (John Lennon Cover) |
11. “Redemption Song” (Bob Marley & The Wailers Cover) (With Beyoncé) |
12. “Rockin’ In The Free World” (Neil Young Cover) |
If you’re familiar with Pearl Jam concerts, 12 songs is a sound check. PJ’s performances regularly hit three hours featuring no fewer than 25 songs and sometimes reaching as many as 40 songs through their set and two encores.
And here’s the Global Citizens soundcheck according to PearlJam.com:

I believe in Miracles
Keep On Rockin’ In the Free World
* Pearl Jam also opened a pop-up shop in collaboration with the Volcom’s SoHo store in New York City. The small shop sold posters, pins, shirts and other Pearl Jam merchandise from September 22-27. The wait to get into the store was up to three hours as evidenced by the long line of 35-year olds snaking down Broadway.
