Had to post this a little congratulations to the San Francisco Rockdogs, my traveling basketball team / teammates. The Rockdogs took home the basketball gold medal in the “open” division by defeating Los Angeles United 41-35 in the championship game of the Gay Games. With this gold medal, the Rockdogs have now won an unprecedented three consecutive gold medals in the Gay Games tournament (Cleveland 2014, Cologne 2010, and Chicago 2006).
The Gay Games isn’t the Olympics, Super Bowl, or World Cup, but within the community, it’s definitely an accomplishment to be proud of. Congrats to Jamel and Mikey, Will and Brandon, Trey, Roy, and Tristan, Stevin and Eric for pulling the team through and continuing the legacy.
