Most everyone under the age of 60 has a mobile app or two or 26 downloaded onto their smartphone.
We’re well-aware of the cultural phenomenons like consumer apps like Flappy Bird and Candy Crush, but what of apps focused on the business?
Of that global average of 26 downloaded apps, 80% of them are free apps leaving about 6 paid apps per average phone. And less than 10% of those paid apps are business apps. This despite the fact that paid apps targeting business earn up to 4X more than paid consumer apps.
Yeah, that all makes sense. We’re all consumers. Our extracurricular activities, hobbies and passions outside of work rarely overlap with the confines of workplace interests. We’re not having CRM, ERP and procurement-themed parties. Right? At least I’m not being invited to these parties.
Why not work easy and play easy? While at work, more of our resources could be placed toward evening the application playing field; developing business apps would make work life easier.
