It’s hard to find unique and quality street style clothing without shelling out $100 at some boutique.
Even just a year into being in New York, I should know better than to try to find more edgy clothing at a good price point in places like SoHo and Chelsea.
While I am in-between apartments, I’ve been exploring the areas surrounding Chinatown including the Lower East Side. The other day, I was on Delancey street when I walked by a storefront that caught my eye. I tried to get in, but the guy by the door signaled to me that the store was closed. I came back a couple days later in the daytime and really dug what I found. Yes, some of the non-sale items are pricey, but they had plenty of racks full of sale gear. Stuff that I’ve never seen.

The vibe was relaxed. The employees were friendly. When I asked where I could try on some shirts, the female associate replied “wherever” in a very thick New York accent. The guys at the register were chatty and even the guy at the front who was on his phone the entire time I was browsing, signaled goodbye to me as I walked out. All this and I got two shirts for $45.
