Last night wasn’t Jeremy Lin’s best individual game statistically, but what he put together on both ends of the court is exactly what the Houston Rockets are looking from the point guard position.
With Dwight Howard and James Harden as the focal points, and Chandler Parsons taking that third scorer role, Lin has to pick his spots and target his energy on helping the team in other ways – specifically on defense, hitting threes, and efficient playmaking.
Well, Merry Christmas Rockets, Lin did all that last night. He hit open shots (5-10), had high assists and low turnovers (8:1), and played great individual defense on Tony Parker – which included an emphatic block on a Parker layup.
Lin finished with 13 points, 8 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 blocks holding Tony Parker, the Spurs’ leading scorer (17.4) and assist (6.3), had just 6 points on 3-11 shooting and 4 assists.
