The O2 is certainly spectacular, but the view from the roof might be even better.

A trip to London is always exciting, especially for those who’ve never been before. Getting to experience British traditions, visit historic buildings, wander around galleries and generally soak up the atmosphere is a wonderful way to get to know this city. However, if you’re into a more action-packed holiday then a city break isn’t always the first option you’d choose. We’re here to show you that a weekend in London can be more adventurous than you might think and you won’t have to miss out on any ‘traditional’ sightseeing opportunities either!

Get On the Buses

There are a few tips everyone should know before visiting a new country but when it comes to visiting London there is one thing you should know above all others; the buses are brilliant. Many people flock to the underground to get around town and whilst it is certainly speedy, it’s usually crowded and can get a bit hot and sweaty. London buses are also busy, but generally a little less. Their biggest selling point though, is that you can do a bit of sightseeing as you get from A to B. Buy yourself a bus ticket for the weekend and you’ll be delighted that you did.

Enjoy a Full English Breakfast

A full English breakfast will give you all the energy you need for the day.

A full English is something of an acquired taste. Packed with greasy, salty, fried foods it is a meal for the very hungry and not too health conscious. With that said, a good one is a wonderful thing. You should be able to order a traditional fry up fairly easily on most streets in London, but one of the most famous can be found at Terry’s Cafe on Great Suffolk Street. This no-frills cafe serves good quality food, in large quantities, at reasonable prices. After one of these breakfasts you’re guaranteed to be ready for whatever the day throws at you.

Get To Know London From the Sky

The O2 Arena is an incredible modern building and viewed from the ground it is pretty special. However, Up at the O2 have made it possible to climb right to the top of the roof. As well as being able to see the building from a totally different perspective (and the opportunity for some Instagrammable pics) seeing London from the sky is incredible. A visit during the day will allow you the best view of the individual buildings, but it can also be very romantic up here watching the sunset.

Take Part in a Centuries-Old London Tradition

If you really want to experience the history of London then what better way than by literally submerging yourself in it? Hampstead Ponds were built in 1770 as drinking water reservoirs for the city, but it wasn’t long before they became a favorite spot for swimming. Nearly three hundred years later they’re more popular than ever and perfect for a bracing dip. The water is cold, but incredibly refreshing, so remember to pack your swimming costume, it’s worth it!

Late Night Entertainment

If you’re still not totally worn out after all of that then you’re in the right place, because London never sleeps. The nightlife in London is bustling, but if you want true 24-hour entertainment then a good choice is to visit the Hippodrome Casino. This casino has a rich history which is explained on helpful plaques placed near notable features. They have a wide selection of games, a well-stocked bar and friendly staff. Oh, and they never close. If you want to enjoy gaming but don’t have the stamina to get all the way across town to the Hippodrome, then why not try out one of the best online casinos in the UK? This list provides information on safety and security, as well as pointing out the best deals. You can access them safely and legally from your hotel room and you’ll have more play money than your mates at the Hippodrome if you use a no deposit bonus.
