After my Eargo wireless earbuds went kaput after several months of usage, I gave up on Bluetooth headphones for half a year. After losing my Samsung S8 Edge (my work phone) that allowed me to use regular headphones with regular headphone jacks, I was forced to look into wireless Bluetooth earphones again. Ones that would connect to my Pixel 2XL.

Two of the more highly-rated earbuds on Amazon were TaoTronics’ Bluetooth wireless headphones (model #TT-BH035US) and Soundpeats, and both were within my price range. I ultimately chose the TaoTronics because I’m familiar with the brand and that I’ve never had a problem with any of their products before — that and it was a couple bucks cheaper.

The TaoTronics wireless earbuds boasted Bluetooth 4.2, magnets to help keep them untangled and out of the way when not in use, as well as a respectable 6 hours playtime. Part of the reason I chose the TaoTronics was that

TaoTronics Earbuds Review: Far So Great!

Just a couple days in and I’m already seeing a huge difference to the Eargos I got nearly a year ago. Not only did the TaoTronic pair easily, but the connection was quick and stable.

At first, I was worried by how these were shaped and the how large and bulky the “remote” was. The “earplug” shape didn’t look like it would be comfortable at all and I thought I would have trouble, but I was wrong; they fit nicely into my ears – -the hooks definitely helped too. The remote though a little long in length hasn’t been a problem. If you do have a problem with the fit, the headphones are packed with 3 interchangeable pairs of of ear tips and hooks so you can try each to get the most optimal wear when moving about.

In the short time, the sound has been amazing especially when compared to my previous experience. As I said in my Eargo review, I’m not an audiophile, but I can tell the difference. The TaoTronics earbuds have provided fantastic, clear sound. I had a small signal connection blip when I was wearing them riding on the bike where my phone was in my left pocket and the Bluetooth transmitter was in my right ear — approximately 2.5-3 feet away, but haven’t had an signal past that.

I haven’t had it long enough to test out the battery life. Stay tuned on that.

All this for $21 — a mere $5 more than what I paid for the Eargos. And the difference is significant. Just a few days in and I’m back on the wireless Bluetooth earbud train. There’s not much for me to complain about the TT-BH035US TaoTronics Bluetooth earphones yet, so I’m giving them five stars. I’ll update this review when I get more usage.
