The fact of the matter is the fewer calories you consume, the more weight you’ll lose over time. And if you like-like sweetgreen then you’re on your way.

If you’re looking for the best sweetgreen salads for your health, look no further than this post. Here’s why: you can always check out the company’s nutritional menu, but it doesn’t include many of the seasonal and collaboration salads.

Our list takes all of sweetgreen’s salads into consideration — past and present. And as healthy as sweetgreen can be, there are salads and bowls that are healthier than others when it comes to cals. So, we’ve done all the calorie-counting for you. You see, we compiled a list of every single signature salad and grain bowl that ever appeared on a sweetgreen menu. When we created this comprehensive list, we were also found the corresponding calorie data for every sweetgreen salad bowl.*

So this list makes it easy for us to just sort ascending by Kcals to give you the top 11 healthiest salads at sweetgreen sorted by lowest calories (descending). As you saw from our previous article listing of the best sweetgreen salads there’s not much differentiating the second healthiest salad to the eleventh — exactly 90 calories to be exact. With that said, let’s get to this ultimate list.

THE 11 HEALTHIEST SWEETGREEN SALADS

11. THAI CASHEW TOFU (450 cal)

Spicy Cashew Tofu no image
You can only order the Thai Cashew Tofu at the Culver City sweetgreen. It’s too bad because at just 450 calories, it’s a nice option to have a more savory and spicy option without the extra calories that usually comes with savory dishes. The Thai Cashew is comprised of sweet gem lettuce and sesame roasted tofu with sweetgreen’s warm portobello mix. Add shredded cabbage, cilantro, basil, spicy sunflower seeds, cucumbers, Spicy Cashew Dressing and a lime squeeze.

9. KALE CAESAR (430 cal)

Another Caesar salad from sweetgreen in the top healthiest (spoiler!) — the Kale Caesar boasts just 430 calories — the majority of which comes from the roasted chicken in there. And it’s worth it as the only salad on this list that has chicken in it. So if you need your white meat, it’s either this one or the Roasted Turkey (more on that one in a second…). Ingredients in Sweetgreen’s Kale Caesar include well, kale of course with chopped romaine, Parmesan crisps, shaved Parmesan, tomatoes, a fresh lime squeeze, and their healthy, creamy Caesar dressing. All hail Caesar, Kale.

9. SPICY SZABI (430 cal)

Tied for 9th place with the Kale Caesar at 430 calories is another main menu item: the Spicy Szabi. Like the Kale Caesar and Rad Thai, this is a sweetgreen mainstay meaning that it can be found at every sweetgreen location – it’s just not nearly as easy to pronounce. However it’s easy on the hips, as the the Spicy Szabi is healthy when it comes to calories. It’s a bowl full of organic baby spinach, shredded kale, spicy broccoli, raw beets, organic carrots, bean sprouts, spicy quinoa, basil, roasted sesame tofu, sweetgreen hot sauce, and sweetgreen’s Carrot Chili Vinaigrette.

8. APPLES, PEARS + ORGANIC CHEDDAR (425 cal)

I usually think the names that sweetgreen are kinda cheesy, but having seen multiple salad names that are just a listing of the main ingredients, I’ll never complain about “Beets Don’t Kale My Vibe” again. Maybe. With 425 calories, the Apple, Pears +  Organic Cheddar salad has, well local apple, local pears and organic cheddar cheese. As well as organic mesclun and shredded kale, basil, candied pecans, organic white cheddar and a Balsamic Vinaigrette with no regret.

7. ROASTED SALMON AND RADISH (415 cal)

The Roasted Salmon salad features sustainably-sourced salmon and was voted the best 2015 Spring salad offering by The Washingtonian. In spite of the price, sweetgreen’s fish and lettuce offerings are usually delicious so if you have the chance to put this one together, we recommend giving it a shot when you feel like splurging. This gluten-free salad has just 415 calories and its role call of ingredients are organic arugula, shredded kale, local radishes, beets, carrots, roasted salmon, and sweetgreen’s in-house Mustard-Oregano Vinaigrette dressing.

6. ROASTED TURKEY + FALL VEGETABLES (405 cal)

At just over 400 calories (405 calories) this healthy seasonal salad from Fall 2014 lives up the healthy ingredients and Thanksgiving-inspired toppings that are called out in its name. It doesn’t sound that tasty, but we know better than to underestimate sweetgreen’s taste buds. The Roasted Turkey + Roasted Vegetables has mesclun, roasted brussel sprouts, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted turkey, their Cranberry Vinaigrette (and sleep-triggering serotonin and melatonin from L-tryptophan). Now that we think about, maybe not the best idea for a work lunch if you want to be productive in the afternoon.

5. RED EYE (385 cal)

No espresso or coffee to be found in this simple salad. Only available at the Culver City Test Kitchen, the Red Eye is a healthy 385 calores per salad, it’s a great choice if you’re in Los Angeles, but if you’re not located in LA-LA Land, the ingredients are available most every where else: sweet gem lettuce, organic arugula, grapes, shredded cabbage, raw beets, sprouted almonds, goat cheese, and the house-made Balsamic Vinaigrette. The Red Eye sounds a little boring, but hey, what do you want for 385 calories?

4. ZA’ATAR BY JON + VINNY (380 cal)

The only collaboration salad to make it in the top 11 of the healthy is actually in the top five. Thi is a surprise because the aim isn’t always to make the healthiest salad to represent the brand. They usually favor bolder flavors, so iit’s suprising to see the Za’atar to be so high and low. The Za’atar is a brainchild between sweetgreen and chef-lebrities Jon + Vinny of Los Angeles fame. The collabowl-ration (sorry) features chopped romaine, parsley + mint, tomatoes + cucumbers + onions, raw beets, roasted chicken, za’atar pita chips, and a Creamy Sumac Dressing created for this custom bowl.

3. RAD THAI (375 cal)

At 375 calories, the Rad Thai is the non-seasonal, non-collaboration healthy champion that can be found at all locations. And it’s been that way for as long as the Thai-inspired item had been upgraded to the nationwide menu. On top of that it’s the only salad in the top five that can be found at every sweetgreen location, so if you can’t get a #1 or #2, then the Rad Thai is the next best option calorie-wise.

What makes for the 375 calories? The ingredients in the Rad Thai are organic arugula, organic mesclun, bean sprouts, shredded cabbage, spicy sunflower seeds, organic carrots, cucumbers, basil, citrus shrimp, and the Spicy Cashew dressing.

2. STRAWBERRIES + LOCAL FETA (360 cal)

At just 360 calories, the strawberries + feta cheese salad that came out in mid-2015 for DMV and Philadelphia is the second healthiest ever. With organic arugula and broccoli leaf, strawberries, cucumbers, toasted almonds, local feta cheese, topped with Balsamic Vinaigrette by sweetgreen, this light and fresh spring salad is tasty and light.

1. SPRING CAESAR (275 cal)

If ranking the healthiest salads at sweetgreen was a basketball game, the Spring Caesar would be the Michael Jordan and it’s a complete blowout. Have mercy on us, Spring Caesar!

With an unbelievable 275 calories; the Spring Caesar is the GOAT; by far the healthiest sweetgreen salad ever. It beats Strawberries + Local Feta,  the second healthiest, by 85 calories!

The ingredients that forms this tasty yet healthy salad are surprising; as they’re not the normal boring mish mash of ingredients, but some exciting toppings like a hard-boiled egg,  Za’atar breadcrumbs and sweetgreen hot sauce! Also included in the making of the Spring Caesar are organic arugula, chopped romaine, asparagus, radishes, cucumbers, fresh lemon squeeze, and sweetgreen’s home-made Caesar Dressing.
