I just got this little reminder today.
It’s appropriate that I am getting this warning through an old ugly windows pop up prompt.
When you click through to learn more, it sends you to a Microsoft landing page that gives you options on what to do next: Upgrade PC or Buy a New PC. I’m surprised Microsoft didn’t take the opportunity to give XP users an incentive to upgrade to Windows whatever because the incentive to move to the Apple brand is compelling, even at the higher pricepoint.
I’ll probably just continue using this netbook until it dies transferring my important docs to my now-affordable Google Drive. I’ve been eyeing a new, slimmer, Samsung Chromebook for sometime anyways.
