I’ve always been interested in Indian music; something about how the beats and melodies are structure resonate with me. Not to mention, I am a sucker for group dancing.
During my visit to India in 2012, I was lucky to sit through (and be completely confused by) a Bollywood movie at the Raj Mandir Theatre in Jaipur.
The movie showing at the time was Rowdy Rathore, a secret agent action flick with plenty of musical interludes.
Though I barely understood what was going on, I really enjoyed the music, so I was able to purchase the entire “Rowdy Rathore” soundtrack from a local street vendor. Little did I know that I would still be enjoying many of the songs two years later.
The fourth track “Chamak Challo Chel Chabeli” became my favorite song and continues to find itself on my playlist:
