It’s great to see that NBA superstars Derrick Rose, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Deron Williams, and Kyrie Irving wearing “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirts over this last week. Much #respect goes out to them for taking a stand for a cause that they believe in, but reminding the nation of Eric Garner’s tragic death at the hands of police officers in New York City. Those officers were not indicted.
In the case of the Cavs’ James and Irving, as well as the Brooklyn Nets’ Garnett, Williams, Alan Anderson and Jarrett Jack, they donned the shirts during pre-game warm ups in a game that was not only played in front of Prince William and Kate Middleton, but also Jay-Z and Beyonce.
