Okay, we admit that we had a little bit of an off year in 2016 when we were a few days off in our Zara sales date predictions.
Luckily, we estimated the start of the Spring/Summer sale date before it actually began, so at least no one missed out on not even one day of the approximately six weeks of fashionable markdowns. We wouldn’t want that on us.
With some minor confusion last year, we’re paying much more attention to Zara’s website because that’s usually the first indication of their bi-annual sale. We’ve also set up some custom Google Alerts to make sure we’re on top of it when the sale nears.
Past sales have been huge data points for us — they’ve actually been enormous, dead giveaways like having the answers to a pop quiz. In the last five years, Zara’s Spring/Summer slaes have always been in June, while their Fall/Winter sale hits sometimes in late-December.
Additionally, Zara sales in the United States have quickly followed markdowns in other countries; particularly Europe and Asia.
It’s just us and past sales data
Just so you know, we don’t have any insiders tipping us off, so we can only guess when the dates are based on when Zara began their sales in previous years. As mentioned, we did a pretty damn good job for a few years then Zara went and played around with the dates for their 2016 Spring/Summer sale. So for 2017, we’re going to give you a range of dates.

Yes, the Spring/Summer sale date isn’t an exact date that you can mark on your calendars with permanent marker, but don’t blame me — blame Zara! We’re the messengers not the ones that determines the dates. Ugh, this relationship.
* A source inside Zara just confirmed that their Spring/Summer sale will start Friday, June 16th, 2017. UPDATE 06/16/2017: Our sincerest apologies, as some of you already know by now, Zara’s Spring/Summer sale didn’t start on June 16th as predicted. Keep an eye on this post as new sale info and predictions are released. – Ed.
With our “predictions” we recognize tha it’s better to cover the entire date range so that no one that is relying on our information is missing out in case the date we report is actually later than the start.
In any case, we can feel fairly confident that the Spring/Summer sale in 2017 will start somewhere between Thursday, June 15th and Friday, June 23rd. There’s less guesswork with their 2017 Winter sales date — we stuck with the day after Christmas again, which is when the last several sales have started. The Fall/Winter sale start date hasn’t changed in the last few years so we’re pretty confident there.
